Sweet Baby Haley

Is there anything as precious as a newborn baby?  The intoxicating smell of baby lotion…their itty-bitty toes…their soft, flawless skin.  The peaceful way they sleep, all snuggled and cozy and warm…

Baby Haley was just one week old when her mom & dad brought her to the studio for pictures – so little and new and perfect!

Haley’s photo session reminded me how fast time really does go by.  After the last picture was snapped, I found myself thinking about the early days of parenthood that every mom and dad experience…diaper changes and bottles and baths and sleepless nights and all the questions and “what-ifs” that run through your mind.

I also thought about the zillion times I’ve snuck upstairs to check on our sleeping boys…looking like little angels in their super-hero jammies…wondering how they’ve grown so fast…standing over them with tears in my eyes and an overwhelming feeling of love and gratefulness in my heart.

Kids grow, and life gets a little easier.  You pack away the little outfits and put the bassinet in storage.  The demands for diaper changes and bottles go away.  But then, so do the moments of wanting to be rocked to sleep, of needing their ouchies kissed, and their hands held when you cross the street.

One minute you have a brand-new, sweet little baby. And in a blink of an eye they’re heading to kindergarten.  Or junior high.  Or college.

Crystal & Blake – Congratulations and thank you so much for having me capture this precious time in your lives.  I know you will treasure these photos forever.

Enjoy your adorable little girl and savor every moment.

Because time does fly.

It really does.

Shelby …

Due to that chilly, crazy Nebraska wind that we all know and love, my usual >85% outdoor, <15% indoor senior photo session was modified to nearly a complete reversal for Shelby. I’m not huge on cheezy props, but who needs props when you have a couple of fun chairs, a cool old dresser, and a purdy girl with charcoal eyes … :) You did a great job, Shelby! Here are a few that were awesome! …

We did run outside for 37 seconds for just a few before the goosebumps took over … :)

and, as usual, my fave is last …

… love those close-ups! ;)

On a different note …

If you haven’t yet ordered your senior pictures and you need a yearbook image submitted to your school, please just email, call, text, or contact me through this site and let me know which image you want me to send.

We will be starting on graduation announcements at the end of January, so you might want to get your packages ordered in the next 4-6 weeks.  Thanks!! :)

Dakota and Josh … don’t be messin’ with either one o’ them :)

We’re welcoming the close-at-hand winter sports season with great anticipation! With only a few seniors left to edit, I’m letting these two wrestlers-to-watch share the spotlight on my blog.  So here’s Dakota …

… and here’s Josh …

(They pose all nice and smiley for me, but you won’t be seeing that on the mat! ;) )

You did a great job, you guys! Good look this season!! :D
